Call for suggested reading
Thought now might be a good time to ask for suggested titles so I can compile and then we can vote later in the week on which one we want to discuss first. There is no limit on the number of titles you can suggest and feel free to second someone else's list. If there is a particular book you'd really like to lead the discussion on, speak up! :) Also, if there are more contemporary YA titles you want to suggest, feel free. I'm always up for Harry Potter discussion, but that is only if others are interested too because I know they are being done to death right now. But if there are others, mention away. I have no idea what kids are reading these days for new stuff, but I think it wouldn't kill me to know for the future when my kids are beginning to read that age group.

Here's my list so far--I think there are others, but I have to go look at my bookshelves at home:
anything Madeleine L'Engle: From the Wrinkle in TIme series or from the Austin Family series and even the books about Poly O'Keefe. I'm up for any of those.
Jacob Have I Loved by Katherine Paterson
Jackaroo by Cynthia Voigt
The Dueling Machine by Ben Bova

Like I said, give me whatever you want for titles and then we'll go from there. Add more at any time.

Thanks! Really looking forward to seeing everyone's choices.

The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper (yes I hunted this series down until now I have a good copy of the book)

Dear God, it's me Margaret by Judy Blume (a sort of coming of age book for girls, at least those around me)

and there is another one but I can't remember the author's name atm, so I 'll get back to that.
